Nottingham Forest-owned goalkeeper Ethan Horvath has heaped praise on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, paying tribute to the manager who gave him a chance at Molde.

The man who was sacked by Manchester United did great things in Norway before getting a chance with the club he served as a player.

That didn’t quite go according to plan but Horvath has claimed that his relationship with Solskjaer was positive during an interview with The Mirror.

Horvath is currently on loan at Luton Town. He’s kept a remarkable 17 clean sheets this season; more than any other goalkeeper currently playing in the Championship.

The eight-cap American has grown as a goalkeeper at Luton and he’s eyeing a second successive promotion to the Premier League.

Recently, he took time out of Luton’s promotion push to discuss the manager who he feels made it all possible.

On Solskjaer, Horvath told The Mirror: “With Ole, it was really, really good. He’s a really top guy and a great manager. Every moment with him there, I enjoyed it. He’s brilliant with the guys.

“He takes an interest in you and he’s always there if you’re having a bit of a down day; he’d pull you into his office to check if everything’s okay and to see if there’s anything he could or the club could do to help if you seemed a bit off.”

Luton are nicely poised in the Championship and defeated fierce rivals Watford 2-0 on Saturday.

The Reds stopper was always going to head out on loan when promotion had been secured, with Forest looking for a big-name goalkeeper.

Moving to the Championship looked like a good move at the time and his form at Luton has more than justified that decision by the club and the player.

It will be interesting to see what the future holds for Horvath.

If Forest go down they could choose to give him a chance in the team but if Luton reach the Premier League, he may have the desire to stay at Kenilworth Road next season.

Only time will tell what the future holds for Horvath. He does have time on his contract at Forest and the ball is in their court.
