What’s the story? Leeds United v Nottingham Forest
It’s easy to say this about every Forest game it would seem but they don’t come bigger than this one tonight.
Forest head to Elland Road without a win since the two teams played each other in early February and they could drop into the bottom three tonight.
Furthermore, there is an intriguing subplot emerging. Reports have bizarrely claimed that Evangelos Marinakis might be preparing to make a change in the hot seat if things go awry tonight.
Steve Cooper doesn’t deserve that. He deserves to see this season out regardless and the work he has done at the City Ground deserves credit.
If he does get the boot. however, it will be largely down to the away form. Forest have been abysmal on their travels, scoring just four goals away from the City Ground and picking up six points.
Leeds have won just one of their last four Premier League matches. They were battered 4-1 by Arsenal at the weekend and will view tonight as a must-win.
Both teams could move up the table considerably if they win this evening and the incentive is clear for both clubs.
Forest are desperate for a performance on the road. The head coach certainly needs one and hopefully, tonight will be the night when it all clicks into place.
Although this game was originally selected for live television coverage, the game won’t be televised this evening.
As ever, you can listen to full match commentary on BBC Radio Nottingham with coverage getting underway from 7pm.
