Nottingham Forest-owned striker Will Swan could now return for the final four games of Mansfield Town’s campaign, the EFL club have confirmed.
Swan was initially ruled out for the remainder of the season with an ankle problem, but he’s recovered better than expected.
The Stags are still on the hunt for a play-off place this season. They currently sit two points behind Salford ahead of a challenging Easter weekend.

Nigel Clough’s team face Swindon away tomorrow, before facing Rochdale at home on Easter Monday.
Swan won’t be back for those fixtures but the Forest legend believes that he will have his talismanic striker back for the last four games.
MORE FOREST STORIES
The 22-year-old had been enjoying a sound campaign in League Two before injury struck. He was closing in on double figures, with nine goals to his name.
Swan is highly thought of at Forest and after this season he will have a single year remaining on his deal.
Last season, the striker was a valued member of the under-21s that reached the play-offs during the Premier League 2 campaign.
He scored 12 goals and claimed five assists, striking up a wonderful partnership with Julian Larsson in the young Forest team.
That form caught the eye of Clough. He took him on loan for the season and he was getting a tune out of Swan prior to his injury.
Now, it’s a huge boost for the club and the player that Swan is on the mend and will be fit to return this season.
Forest-owned Swan could return for final four games
This would be superb news for the Stags as they bid to put to bed any lingering heartache from last season’s play-off defeat.
Swan is fearless and he was really starting to get going when he was cruelly injured.

Having a different option in the attack could be ideal for Clough as he bids to get the Stags over the line during 2022/23.
This could also be good news from a Forest perspective.
He could finish the season strongly and if he does, the Reds could look to take a look at him during pre-season ahead of next season.
