Nottingham Forest star Harry Toffolo has raved about Lewis O’Brien during a recent interview with the club. The pair played together at Huddersfield and both made the move to the City Ground during the summer.
Toffolo has fought his way back into Steve Cooper’s team recently. He started the game against Wolves earlier this month and kept his place in the team for away trips to Leeds and Aston Villa.

The 27-year-old has typically played second fiddle during the 2022/23 campaign behind Renan Lodi. He’s never sulked though and has recently grasped his chance with both hands.
During their time at Huddersfield, the pair struck up quite a relationship with O’Brien. The pair become a quality tandem on the pitch and are also big friends away from the green bit.
Toffolo has raved about O’Brien this week. He sat down to be interviewed by the On and Off the Pitch podcast and he has some high praise for the Forest-owned midfielder.
He said: “I first met Lewis when he was 21 so he’s matured a lot in that time. He’s got a lovely family and he’s one of the best people in football. In fact, for me, he’s the best bloke in football.
“To play football with your best mate is something that you can’t really comprehend. Sometimes you don’t get that chance. He’s a great guy. I could go on and on about Lewis, he’s a top, top guy and I hope he shines out in the MLS and I’m sure he will.”

The left-back has endured a rollercoaster ride during his maiden campaign at Forest. He started the season playing regularly but then lost his place when Lodi was signed from Atletico Madrid.

In January, he almost joined Anderlecht on loan for the remainder of the campaign. Instead, he was summonsed to stay at Forest, with Omar Richards suffering a setback in his recovery.
Now, he’s reaping the rewards of remaining patient. Toffolo is still learning when it comes to playing in the Premier League and he will hope to continue starring as the season reaches a climax.
