Nottingham Forest lost 2-0 to Manchester United earlier today and eagle-eyed supporters spotted something Keylor Navas did prior to kick-off.

The Costa Rican star signed for the Reds in January. He helped ease the club’s injury crisis after Dean Henderson injured his thigh.

It’s not been a particularly positive time for Navas. He’s only been on the winning side once and his defence has hardly helped him.

Navas is an experienced performer. He signed on loan from PSG and has also won the Champions League three times with Real Madrid.

He’s signed for the Reds just until the end of the campaign. At 36-years-old, the player will only be staying until the end of the season before heading back to Paris.

Navas could provide some vital experience during the final seven games of the season. It would appear that he’s already been tasked with being a leader in the dressing room.

Ahead of the game with Manchester United, Navas was spotted getting passionate among his teammates.

During the usual huddle it was the goalkeeper’s turn to bark out the orders. His teammates listened intently as the stopper issued a clear rallying cry.

What Keylor Navas did prior to kick-off in Forest clash

This was a really nice moment picked up by the Sky TV cameras. Navas has come in for some criticism in recent weeks and a lot of it has been unjust.

The player with over 100 caps for his country is trying his best. Against United, he made several decent stops again but he can’t keep them all out.

Navas is clearly influential in the dressing room. Forest have a lot of younger players in their ranks and he has an important role to play.

Forest have seven cup finals left to play. They will need Navas to stay in top form for a little while longer.
