Harry Redknapp has delivered his verdict on whether or not Nottingham Forest will be relegated this season. The Reds are inside the bottom three on goal difference and are without a victory in 10 games, stretching back to February.

Redknapp has come up against the Reds many times during his career. Earlier this week he spoke with the UTCIAD Podcast on YouTube where he was quizzed on the relegation battle.

Forest are definitely in the discussion. They’ve been in freefall since a 1-0 win over Leeds United back at the start of February. Steve Cooper’s men haven’t won since that victory and have slipped into the drop zone.

Whilst other teams have picked up results, Forest have faltered. Now, they have a ridiculously tricky run-in to try and pick up enough points to save themselves.

Redknapp has praised Forest’s head coach. However, he doesn’t think they will quite have enough to avoid the drop this season.

He told the UTCIAD podcast: “They’re bang in trouble.

“I think Forest would be my favourites at the moment to get the drop. I’d go with Leicester, Southampton and Forest.

“Steve Cooper did a fantastic job last season getting them up but I do think they’re in big trouble this year.”

It’s perhaps not surprising to see Redknapp predict that the drop looms for Forest. They’re without a win for ages and ultimately they have the toughest run-in of any team in the mix.

The Reds have shot themselves in the foot in recent weeks. Their home form has fallen off a cliff and ultimately they only have themselves to blame for their decline.

Redknapp is a man who knows all about keeping teams in the Premier League. He’s done it several times during his career, although he’s been out of the game for a few years now.

Forest have now been written off by most people at this stage. As a result, perhaps they should just play with a bit of freedom and see if that can transform their fortunes somewhat.
