Nottingham Forest have been rocked by another injury this time to Gustavo Scarpa. According to reports, the Brazilian has picked up a calf problem and perhaps more worryingly, no time scale has been placed on his return to action.

The 29-year-old arrived at Forest in January from Palmeiras. He had just won the Golden Ball award in his homeland as the Player of the Year for the 2022 campaign; scoring 13 goals and registering 15 assists across the season.

His move to Forest saw him complete a dream come true. He had held a desire to join a club in Europe for some time and many years ago, he actually was courted by Manchester United.

Scarpa instantly became a hit with the fans when he signed for Forest. He was seen skateboarding and doing rubix cubes in his first few photos in England and he’s a very likeable character.

The versatile midfielder hasn’t been in the squad for the last two games. He came on as a substitute for 18 minutes against Leeds but hasn’t started a game since February.

He’s made 10 appearances fro the Reds in total. As of yet, he’s not scored or registered an assist, however, and Steve Cooper will hope to see more from him once he’s back to full fitness.

Forest star Scarpa has picked up a calf injury

Forest are struggling for goals right now. As a result, they can ill-afford any further injury problems to players who like to advance into the final third.

Scarpa is one of those and the latest reports claim that he’s now got a calf injury. Sadly, it’s not been mentioned exactly how long he will be out and Forest face a waiting game.

The player who made over 200 appearances for Palmeiras is capable. He’s a useful option for Forest to have in their squad and the hope will be that he can return to action very soon.
