Nottingham Forest head coach Steve Cooper has shared what he’s told his players this week. On Saturday, he takes his team to Anfield where they will face a team full of confidence in Liverpool.
The Reds are in truly woeful form. They were beaten 2-0 by Manchester United last week to make it 10 games without a victory in the Premier League.

Forest have now slipped into the bottom three and their chances of getting out look bleak. They have a thankless run of games to finish the season and things don’t look good.
Cooper is also under pressure. In recent weeks, Evangelos Marinakis has thrown his weight behind the head coach but performances and results haven’t exactly improved.
Now, the head coach has addressed the media ahead of the Liverpool test, sharing the message that he’s relayed to his players this week.
He told Sky Sports: “What we’ve done with the players also this week, we’re obviously facing up to it, which we have to. But we’ve also made them aware that this sometimes can happen and we’ve given them some examples of some teams in recent years who have been in this position and how they’ve come through.”

The 43-year-old is worshipped on Trentside. His exploits in getting the team promoted last season will never be forgotten and nor should they be.
Now, however, Cooper is facing a huge challenge. The fan base are seemingly split in terms of whether he stays or whether he should go whilst the Reds have a fighting chance.

It’s good that Cooper has shown examples of other teams, however. The Reds are only in the drop zone on goal difference and there is still time.
That said, Forest don’t have a great run of games left to play. They could do with a shock result or two and hopefully, one of those can come against Liverpool this weekend.
Cooper needs a big performance from his players. Forest are so near yet so far away from a competitive points total and the squad must now roll up their sleeves.
