Jurgen Klopp raved about Nottingham Forest head coach Steve Cooper before his Liverpool team beat the Reds 3-2 at Anfield. It was a tough one to take for Forest who twice came from behind to draw level before allowing Mohamed Salah to score a winning goal for the hosts.
Forest twice came from behind in a pulsating second half at Anfield. Diogo Jota had twice put Liverpool in the lead but Neco Williams and Morgan Gibbs-White both restored parity for the Reds. Salah was the man who so typically had the final say.

The Reds fought tooth and nail here. There could be absolutely zero suggestion here that Forest have thrown the towel in on their bid to stay in the Premier League and the players gave absolutely everything they had.
Yesterday will have been a pretty special day for Cooper. He spent time working at Liverpool earlier in his career and was responsible for overseeing the young players emerging through the ranks.
Klopp is a huge fan of Cooper’s. Ahead of the game against Forest on Saturday afternoon, the German boss lauded the Reds head coach in his notes for the matchday programme.
He said: “Steve Cooper is highly respected not just by his former colleagues at Liverpool but throughout football as a whole, and by taking Forest back into the Premier League and making them competitive, he has more than earned this.
Klopp raved about Cooper ahead of Liverpool v Nottingham Forest
The 43-year-old head coach has come under pressure in recent weeks. Forest are now 11 games without a victory and they’re in desperate need of a victory from somewhere.

It’s Brighton next for the Reds at the City Ground. The Seagulls are enjoying a fine campaign themselves but Forest must play with the same level of urgency as they did at Anfield yesterday.
Klopp is a respectable man in the world of football. As a result, his comments on Cooper are perhaps quite telling and it suggests just how well respected the Forest man is and the club are lucky to have him.
