Nottingham Forest-owned star Richie Laryea was at it again this weekend, scoring for the second successive game. This time his goal proved nothing more than a consolation during a 4-2 defeat to Philadelphia.
Laryea notched once again and he’s clearly thriving back at Toronto FC. He looks to be enjoying his football and now he’s starting to find the net on a frequent basis.

Laryea is part of the furniture with the Canadian MLS franchise. The right-sided wing-back rejoined his former club on loan after failing to get going at the City Ground.
The 28-year-old signed for Forest in January 2022. He made just five appearances, with one coming in the way of a start; failing to dislodge the brilliant Djed Spence from the right-sided wing-back spot.
Laryea’s goal at the weekend was another fine strike. Just a week ago, he scored a fantastic goal as Toronto drew with Atlanta United. Here, his goal saw him pop up on the edge of the box and drill an unstoppable effort into the corner from a relatively tight angle.

Forest-owned Laryea scores again
Toronto are struggling in the MLS this season. They’re not losing every week but the amount of draws they keep claiming are certainly hampering their progress.
It does highlight, however, that perhaps they aren’t a million miles away from getting things right. Laryea being back at the club will certainly help matters; especially if he stays among the goals.

It will be interesting to see what the future holds for Laryea. He’s never really had a proper chance at the club and when he signed he spoke about a move to Europe being his dream.
If the Reds do return to the Championship next season, they will have to cut their cloth accordingly. That could open the door for Laryea and surely he will be desperate to make a proper crack of things at the City Ground.
