Real Mallorca captain Antonio Raillo was left fuming that a move to Nottingham Forest didn’t take place four years ago.
The claim about Raillo’s failed move to Forest has been made by the Mallorca Daily Bulletin.
Forest held a strong interest in the skipper back in 2019. Martin O’Neill had just been appointed and his first remit was to sign central defenders.

Three did arrive. Alex Milosevic, Yohan Benalouane and Molla Wague were all added to the ranks.
That left Raillo in limbo, however. He had set his heart on a move to the City Ground but Mallorca were unwilling to let him leave.

The defender stayed after being promised a new contract. On that occasion, it never came; naturally, it left him furious.
Raillo has been in fine form this season. As a result, it’s claimed that he will now be handed a new two-year deal to keep him at Mallorca until 2026.
The 31-year-old has been with Mallorca since 2016. He’s now made 222 appearances for the club and is part of the furniture.
Things could have been very different though. He’s now spoken of his desire to move to Forest in 2019 and admits he wasn’t happy.
The Mallorca Daily Bulletin claims that the player was left ‘outraged’ by the decision taken not to let him leave.
He had his heart set on moving to England. Subsequently, Raillo was disappointed when the move to Forest never came to fruition.
Raillo was fuming that Forest move didn’t go through
The player would have likely proved a decent addition to the Forest ranks in the Championship.
He’s been a wonderful servant to Mallorca and it’s fair to say that he deserves a new contract.

The ship has likely sailed for him at Forest now. At 31-years-old, he probably won’t remain on the radar, with the recruitment team looking different these days.
Raillo is a very useful player though and it would appear he was desperate to join Forest four years ago.
