Robert Earnshaw was left stunned by something that Keylor Navas did during a 3-1 win for Nottingham Forest against Brighton.

The Reds won thanks to goals from Danilo, Morgan Gibbs-White and a Pascal Gross own goal.

A much-needed victory gave the Reds fresh impetus in their battle against relegation against an in-form Seagulls side.

The win was deserved though. Brighton manager Roberto De Zerbi claimed as such following the victory.

Things could have been so much different though. Forest were indebted to their goalkeeper with the scores level at 0-0.

After some brilliant play by Kaoru Mitoma, he pulled the ball back for Julio Enciso but his effort was brilliantly saved by Navas.

Earnshaw was on co-commentary for the World Service coverage and Sky Sports’ highlights packages.

When the Forest goalkeeper made the save, he said: “Wow! That is absolutely amazing from Navas. What a save, that is.”

Earnshaw spent a few years at Forest towards the back end of his career. He was a cult hero having arrived from Derby and his somersault celebration was a joy to behold.

The striker always turned up for the big occasions. He often scored against the Rams and fans worshipped him.

The man with over 100 caps for Costa Rica is a ridiculous coup for Forest. He’s been largely excellent and he makes saves like this every game.

Forest need more from each player. In recent months, Navas has kept Forest competitive even though he’s been unable to prevent defeats.

Earnshaw was right to be amazed by the save. For someone at the wrong end of their career, Navas still possesses elite reflexes and he can’t be knocked.

Forest do still have work to do. They can’t rest on their laurels just yet, although Premier League survival is now in their own hands once again.
