Nottingham Forest midfielder Danilo has posted a video of himself training at the City Ground, appearing to dismiss reports that he might be injured.

The Reds star has scored in recent games against Brighton and Brentford but went off with a hamstring problem on Saturday.

His departure saw Forest fold and ultimately, they went on to lose the game 2-1 in a massive blow to their survival chances.

Afterwards, some reports from Brazil claimed that the player had hurt his hamstring. They believed that he would be missing for the next two games against Southampton and Chelsea.

The 22-year-old has grasped his latest chance. Senior football had been hard to come by following his January arrival but of late he’s been impressive.

Forest pared with £16 million for the talented youngster. Despite his tender years, he had made 141 appearances for Palmeiras before he decided to leave.

He was signed shortly after the club added Gustavo Scarpa. He’s also currently injured and it’s uncertain whether or not he will play again this season.

This would be a seriously big boost for the Reds. They need Danilo fit and firing with Monday’s game against Southampton absolutely huge.

This really is a sign of Forest’s season. A player who has just started to play well has picked up an injury at the worst possible time.

Neco Williams is also in that boat. He was just starting to gain some confidence and then he picked up a season-ending problem against Brighton.

Now, Danilo could be on the mend, however. He’s shown a video on his Instagram of him running on the training ground and perhaps his injury isn’t as bad as first feared.

Steve Cooper will likely be quizzed on Danilo at the weekend’s press conference but this latest upload certainly offers optimism that he can be fit for Monday night.
