Paul Tierney will be on VAR for Nottingham Forest v Southampton just over a week after a pretty public spat with Jurgen Klopp.
The match official was in the headlines this week, with Klopp accusing him of lying and publicly dressing him down in the media.
Klopp isn’t backwards in coming forwards. He was once again unhappy with a number of decisions that Tierney didn’t give his side during Liverpool v Tottenham on Sunday.

His vendetta against the Greater Manchester-based official has grown weird. It’s becoming a bizarre situation now and a ban is likely to be coming his way.
Now, Tierney has been given another game involving high stakes. This time, however, it’s a huge game at the foot of the table that he’s been appointed to.
Forest will face Southampton knowing they simply have to win. A late defeat to Brentford has piled the pressure on the Reds once again and the situation is desperate.
The clash is also huge for Southampton. If they don’t beat Forest they will be practically relegated and they’re already heavily relying on other results.
Forest will also have a top referee on the game on Monday. Michael Oliver has been appointed to the game and they should be in safe hands with him.
Tierney will work on VAR during Monday clash for Forest
This is a pretty decent appointment and it appears the PGMOL have ensured the best officials are on this game.
Forest and Southampton deserve respect for this game. It could essentially be worth millions with whoever wins getting a boost when it comes to survival.

Tierney is enjoying a pretty steady season. He’s not refereed Forest since March when Newcastle defeated them at the City Ground.
The referee also oversaw Forest’s win over Leicester earlier in the season and their heavy defeat against Manchester City in August.
It would be nice to have one game where VAR doesn’t play a significant part and now it’ll be down to Tierney to ensure everything runs smoothly from Stockley Park on Monday.
