Nottingham Forest defender Mohamed Drager could find himself in limbo in the summer.

Some reports have claimed that FC Luzern are uncertain whether or not they will sign him permanently.

The Swiss side have taken the defender on loan for the current campaign and they hold an option to buy him.

Forest clearly don’t see Drager as part of their future. The 26-year-old has never played for the Reds after arriving from Olympiacos in the summer of 2021.

He made one unused substitute appearance at West Brom in November 2021 but has otherwise never played.

Bizarrely, Drager has shone on the international stage. He helped Tunisia reach the latter stages of the AFCON last time out to the surprise of everyone.

His club football is unlikely to take place in England though. Now, it’s not even certain that there will be an offer from Luzern on the table for him.

Blick claims that it’s very questionable whether or not his temporary club will choose to sign him.

It’s not certain whether his form has tailed off or whether Luzern simply feel that they can pursue another option in the summer.

Drager didn’t cost Forest a fortune and it will be no major loss to the Reds if he does depart in the summer.

The Tunisian international will be no major loss to Forest when he does depart during the summer months.

It will go down as another bizarre step by the Forest recruitment team and this was a George Syrianos signing.

Drager could find himself struggling to get himself a club when the summer transfer window opens.

He must have felt that Luzern would become a regular home but it appears things have gone south there.

Now, Drager will need his agent to get on the phone sharpish as he prepares for a summer of uncertainty.
