Nottingham Forest legend Stuart Pearce believes that the Reds have missed out on a top player in James Milner.
The man who served Forest with distinction was speaking to Jim White and Simon Jordan on TalkSPORT on Friday morning.

Forest were linked with a move to sign Liverpool player Milner yesterday. He is, however, set to sign for Brighton when his Anfield deal ends in the summer.
The Reds already have some plans in place for next season. As of yet, they don’t really know what division they will be playing in during 2023/24.
Pearce is a huge fan of Milner and what he’s achieved during his career.

He’s made a claim on TalkSPORT that he’s one of the best players to have ever played in the Premier League.
The man who previously played for Forest said: “He’s arguably the best professional I’ve ever worked with. His level of professionalism blows everybody away. He’s magnificent to work with him. You get value for money, you get games, you get leadership, you get the lot.
“I said a few years ago, pound for pound he’s the best that’s ever been in the Premier League. I stick by that for what you get, what he gives you around the camp, the games he plays and everything he stands for.”
Pearce thinks Forest have missed out on quality Milner
It was always a long shot that Forest would beat Brighton to the signing of such a quality player.
On the face of things, people see Milner as a 37-year-old and a player who is coming to the end of his career.

That would be quite harsh on the player though and his professionalism is a major reason why he’s still playing.
At Liverpool, his pre-season fitness statistics are always top of the pops and he’s looked after himself superbly well.
Pearce’s comments are quite interesting. As a result, it’s perhaps a shame that Forest’s Premier League status isn’t certain just yet allowing them to properly rival Brighton for his signature.
