Southampton threw everything at Forest last night but they’re now in a perilous situation.

Johnson has been in fine form this season and has found the net 10 times in all competitions.

Last night, it was his industrious work rate that caught the eye with the player working tirelessly.

Kelly spotted his fantastic running throughout the game and praised him for his efforts.

He told BBC Sport: “When Forest have been able to break, Brennan Johnson has been lightning down the wing and Taiwo Awoniyi has taken his goals really well.”

Johnson has adapted nicely to Premier League football during the 2022/23 campaign.

He wasn’t quite at his brilliantly best before the World Cup but in the second half of the season, he’s really shone.

The 21-year-old will be a big player for the Reds in the final three games and hopefully, he has a few more goals in the locker.

Johnson was so lively last night it was unbelievable and he gave the Saints’ defence a torrid time.

At 21, the Forest winger is set for a seriously bright future and hopefully, the Reds can get themselves over the line this season.

Forest need to probably win one more game this season and with Johnson in form, the Reds have every chance.
