Jermaine Jenas has raved about Nottingham Forest star Morgan Gibbs-White after last night’s 4-3 win over Southampton.

The Reds claimed a vital three points on a night where the pendulum could have swung either way.

Jenas played for Forest during his career and he was at Wembley as the Reds won promotion last season.

Following that win, the club signed several new players, with Gibbs-White one of the several additions.

The 23-year-old was the club’s record signing, checking in from Wolves for a fee that could reach £42 million.

Last night he was in fine form for the Reds scoring from the penalty spot and registering an assist for Danilo.

Gibbs-White is living up to his signing and right now, he’s arguably Forest’s top-performing player.

Last night, Jenas was quick to praise the young talent for his moment of magic that set Danilo up.

His little backheel was majestic and left Kyle Walker-Peters stranded on the City Ground turf.

During the game, Jenas raved about Gibbs-White, tweeting: “That assist by Morgan Gibbs-White is elite.”

It really was a moment that typified the type of player that Gibbs-White is.

He is renowned for his fancy footwork and ultimately the player boasts star quality that is unrivalled in the Forest squad.

The man who starred for Forest on two separate occasions during his career is a huge fan of Gibbs-White.

He spent years coming through the ranks at Forest and he also knows what it’s like to join a club following a big transfer fee.

Much like Jenas, Gibbs-White hasn’t looked fazed at all by the transfer fee that Forest paid in the summer.

He’s taken it firmly in his stride and the Reds will hope he can keep producing the goods between now and the end of the season.
