Sabri Lamouchi is still worshipped by Nottingham Forest supporters but the manager is now out of work once more.

Cardiff City owner Vincent Tan has decided not to give the Frenchman a new contract for the 2023/24 campaign.

The Bluebirds finished just outside the relegation zone, with Lamouchi keeping them in the Championship.

The man who spent the 2019/20 campaign at Forest must have expected to get an extension to his contract.

When he arrived the team were languishing near the bottom of the table and he managed to keep them up.

Cardiff had three managers last season. Steve Morison started the campaign, with Mark Hudson also having a short spell in charge.

Lamouchi steadied the ship and enjoyed some good days in charge of the club as they staved off relegation.

In fairness, Lamouchi’s team usually won or lost. In 18 matches, the Bluebirds won six and lost 10 of his games in charge.

Ultimately, perhaps it was that record that stopped Tan from giving him a new deal ahead of next season.

Now, Lamouchi is back to the drawing board and he will once again go in search of another job.

Sacked by Forest in 202, Lamouchi out of work once again

Although the manager couldn’t help Forest get into the Premier League, it’s fair to say he restored a feel-good factor on Trentside.

Lamouchi replaced Martin O’Neill in a shock decision by the club but he very nearly reached the play-offs.

It was Steve Cooper’s Swansea team that pipped Lamouchi’s Forest team on the final day of that campaign in heartbreaking circumstances.

Forest were still thankful for Lamouchi and what he achieved once he did leave and he did a lot of good work at the club.

After feeling as though he did good work at Forest and Cardiff he will now hope to get another job in time for next season
