The City Ground waited with bated breath as Nottingham Forest closed in on Premier League survival and Dean Henderson cut a nervous figure. The on-loan Manchester United stopper was in the Peter Taylor Stand, crutches leaning against the railings, desperate for the final whistle.

Some footage from the club’s matchday pass video has gone viral. It showcases just how much the goalkeeper cares about the Reds and showcases that he shared every emotion with the supporters at the weekend.

Henderson hasn’t played for Forest since January. He tore his thigh taking a goal kick during a 2-0 win over Leicester and he’s failed to return to fitness, with Keylor Navas signed to replace him.

That hasn’t stopped the 26-year-old from cheering his teammates on though. He was given the chance to do his rehabilitation at Old Trafford but that wasn’t something he was keen to do.

Instead, he’s travelled up and down the country watching Forest. He’s been seen in the dressing room with his teammates and it’s anticipated that he’d welcome a permanent move to the City Ground.

Henderson leaves Forest – for now – having made 20 appearances for the club. He kept six clean sheets on Trentside; more than any goalkeeper outside of the top six during that period.

The latest footage released from the club has shown a brilliant moment. With the game edging into injury time, Henderson can be spotted asking one of the analysts how long is left.

When the reply of three minutes comes, Henderson puffs out his cheeks in a nervous fashion. He was also spotted fidgeting uncomfortably in his seat as the final whistle edged ever closer.

Ultimately, this showcases that Henderson cares deeply about the football club. He could be available for £30 million this summer and to get a goalkeeper of his quality that would represent a steal.
