Alan Shearer thought Nottingham Forest star Morgan Gibbs-White was brilliant on Saturday. The Reds secured their Premier League status by beating title-chasing Arsenal 1-0 at the City Ground.
The result compounded Arsenal to second place and handed Manchester City the title. After the game, Shearer named Gibbs-White in his Team of the Week.

The Forest forward has been in fine form for a number of weeks now. He signed for the club from Wolves in a club-record deal worth potentially £42.5 million.
Much has been made of the transfer fee but he’s proved to be worth his weight in gold. Wolves fans will now perhaps be wishing they had kept hold of him.
After Saturday’s game, Shearer raved about Gibbs-White. He assisted the winning goal for Taiwo Awoniyi and he looks set to be a magnificent signing for the Reds.
Shearer told the Premier League’s official website: “Another top performance from him, playing a huge role in the goal that kept Forest in the league.”
Gibbs-White has five goals and seven assists this season. But for some wayward finishing from the club’s forwards earlier in the season, the player would be sat with more assists.
He’s very much a big part of what Steve Cooper is trying to achieve at Forest. He’s creative, hardworking and ultimately he’s a match-winner on his day.
Shearer thought Forest star Gibbs-White was brilliant against Arsenal
There really is no ceiling for just how good Gibbs-White could be. He’s been inspired all season and hopefully, he can enjoy many more years at Forest.
The Reds beat off Crystal Palace and Everton to sign the 23-year-old. That now looks like an inspired decision with Gibbs-White in brilliant form.

Most of his goals and assists have come in the last six weeks. When things mattered the most he’s really rolled his sleeves up and against Arsenal he was class.
The challenge for Gibbs-White next season is consistency. He will hope to add more goals and assists to his game but he will definitely be buoyed by this form at the end of 2022/23.
