Nottingham Forest star Danilo is set to earn a recall to the Brazil squad after his fine run of form. The 22-year-old has netted three goals for the Reds since his £16 million from Palmeiras.

Now, the Daily Mail claims that Danilo is on the radar of the national team. He was called up previously by Tite but failed to make an appearance for his country.

Danilo has proved a smart signing by Forest. He cost a bargain price and has scored goals against Brighton, Brentford and Southampton in recent weeks.

Following his arrival on Trentside, it did take the player some time to get going. Steve Cooper had to take him out of the firing line a little bit but he’s returned with a vengeance.

Danilo quite literally has the world at his feet. He has been inspired of late for Forest and given his age, it’s easy to suggest that he will become a top player.

The Reds clearly think so too. When they added him from Palmeiras, they showed their intentions by giving him a six-and-a-half-year contract at the club.

Brazil don’t actually have any immediate games pencilled in. However, the Reds midfielder is in line to make the squad when they do next call players up for duty.

Forest star Danilo set for Brazil recall

This is great news for the Reds performer and he will be delighted. He was previously called up for a friendly game against Panama but he didn’t make it on the pitch.

Danilo is already a fan favourite. He has a song made by the supporters to the tune of ‘Gold’ by Spandau Ballet and he enjoys the fans signing it.

Now the midfielder will hope to win gold in another sense. He will hope to be part of the Brazil squad moving forwards as they try to reclaim silverware in the coming years.

As for Forest, Danilo will hope to kick on next season. He typifies the box-to-box role and he could become a mainstay at the City Ground for many years to come.
