Loic Bade was allowed to leave Nottingham Forest in January and last night he won the Europa League with Sevilla as they defeated Roma on penalties. After the game, he received some unexpected news from the Director of Football, Monchi too.
The Reds allowed Bade to return to Rennes during the January transfer window. He had not played a single minute of competitive action at the City Ground and he was sent back to France before he was subsequently loaned out to Sevilla.

Forest had the option to make their deal permanent for a small fee of £12 million. It’s believed that Sevilla took him on loan for the second half of the campaign and also had the same clause included in their deal.
It would appear that after last night’s huge win for Sevilla, Monchi is keen to act. Bade has been spotted in a video shared by Fabrizio Romano, asking for the La Liga club to sign him.
Bade can be seen telling Monchi: “Please, please…sign me!”

Monchi responds in style, saying: “It’s already done, we have already signed you!”
This would be a coup for Sevilla. They’ve given Bade his first major trophy and he’s been a huge part of the Europa League campaign during 2022/23.
Bade was allowed to leave Forest and he’s one that got away
The Reds did secure their own goal for the season but it does remain a mystery why Bade didn’t get more of a chance to shine at the City Ground.
Steve Cooper claimed that Bade was training with the team on a daily basis. For whatever reason, however, he just didn’t fancy him enough for a chance in the Premier League.

Bade will now hope to put some roots down in Spain. He’s moved on from his failed spell at Forest and he might feel quite smug now he has a winners medal around his neck.
The Reds will continue to monitor his career with intrigue. Bade is definitely one that got away and Forest might be wondering how their season would have panned out had they used him more.
