Nottingham Forest are keen to sign Silas from VfB Stuttgart during the summer transfer window. The player has the same agent as Orel Mangala and the pair could be reunited this summer.

Silas is a centre forward. Forest head coach Steve Cooper may well try and bolster his attacking ranks during the close season and the DR Congo performer is on the radar.

The 24-year-old has been with Stuttgart since 2019. He’s developed into a wonderful player during his time at the club but he could be on the move during the summer transfer window.

Silas has endured a pretty frustrating campaign during 2022/23. He has scored just six goals and claimed two assists during the season but Forest are still keen to do business for the player.

According to The Sun (Print Edition; page 61), the Reds want to sign the striker who is valued at £20 million. Silas would be available for transfer during the window but clubs will have to stump up the right money.

Forest went through 2022/23 with one main striker. Taiwo Awoniyi scored 11 times in all competitions and the order of the day for Cooper is to sign other players to compete with him next season.

This would be an interesting one. It’s fair to say that if this does go through, the jury will perhaps remain out until he’s proved himself at the City Ground.

Silas doesn’t have a brilliant scoring record. He has found the net six times this season and ultimately Forest will surely want players with a more proven nature about them.

The 24-year-old is a player who has played in a decent league, however. He’s now perhaps considered a player who can cope with the demands of the Premier League.

Silas has definitely got a lot to prove. However, if he signs for Forest he could star under Steve Cooper and this is an intriguing one for Forest to look at.
