Nottingham Forest are interested in Manchester City winger Carlos Borges this summer and could make a move. The 19-year-old could be allowed to leave the Citizens, with just a year to run on his existing deal.
According to ESPN, the Reds are keen to sign the player with the transfer window now open. He wouldn’t cost the earth either, with the article claiming that £11 million is the value placed on him by City.

Borges typically operates on the left-hand side and that’s an area where Forest could definitely improve. Last season, Taiwo Awoniyi was deployed there but options are certainly required.
The teenager was in unreal form for the club’s under-23 ranks during 2022/23. He scored 29 goals and claimed 18 assists as the young Citizens outfit romped to the Premier League 2 title.
Next on the agenda for the youngster is surely senior football. Forest could offer him a strong opportunity to play regularly, with Steve Cooper a dab hand when it comes to nurturing youngsters.

One big problem could be persuading City to do business. Although it looks unlikely that he will be ousting Jack Grealish and Bernardo Silva in the near future, they may not want to sell a quality prospect.
City development coach Brian Barry-Murphy praised Borges back in February. He called him ‘quality’ after showcasing his abilities at both ends of the pitch during a victory for the under-21s over Liverpool.
Forest want Borges and he’d be an amazing addition
Borges would be a quality addition to the Forest ranks. However, the stumbling block could be getting Pep Guardiola to sell him for just £11 million during the summer transfer window.
The treble-winning boss is renowned for giving his youngsters a platform to play regularly during pre-season. Borges could get the nod to train with the first team and he will be desperate to impress.

Forest have Brennan Johnson but aside from him, they don’t really have another speed demon winger. Borges can help with that and this looks like a decent link for the Reds.
Rumour rating: 8/10 – There is a lot to love about this! City don’t typically nurture bad footballers and his goal and assist record was insane last season.
Getting him for just £11 million could prove to be the stumbling block. Hopefully, however, discussions can take place and some sort of arrangement can be made.
