An exciting claim has just been made regarding Nottingham Forest and their ongoing pursuit of Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson. The Reds have been chasing the player since his loan spell ended last month.

Now, according to TalkSPORT, the deal for Henderson to head back to the City Ground could take place very soon. The ball seems to be rolling, with Andre Onana nearing a move to Old Trafford from Inter.

Henderson has been spotted training with United this past week. That led to many people believing that he might have a chance at claiming a place as the club’s number one again.

A devastating blow for the 26-year-old, however, came when he was left out of the United squad for a trip to Norway. Tom Heaton was the senior goalkeeper on the tour, with two young stoppers providing backup.

Henderson was a huge signing made by Forest shortly after they won promotion last summer. He made 20 appearances for the Reds and kept six clean sheets during his time in the team.

Now, it’s claimed that Onana is set to sign for United in the next 24 hours. Then, as expected, the Reds will be able to force through a deal to sign Henderson and bolster their goalkeeping ranks.

This would be a great signing for the Reds. Now, supporters will be keen to see exactly how much the Reds will part with to sign the man who starred on loan at the City Ground.

Forest are getting themselves a quality goalkeeper. Not only that, but they’re getting themselves a custodian who could essentially be the club’s number one for the next 10 years.

Henderson’s 2022/23 campaign was curtailed by a thigh injury that required surgery. However, the fact he’s been spotted back on the grass training with United can only mean that he’s nearing full fitness.

It’s been a summer of pretty repetitive stories regarding Henderson. Now, it seems as though the ball is finally rolling and Forest can finally get their first deal over the line very soon.
