Nottingham Forest goalkeeper Adnan Kanuric has headed to Spain with the senior ranks as the club remain short on goalkeepers. The stopper who hasn’t made a senior appearance has been spotted in Spain and will provide competition for Ethan Horvath and George Shelvey.
Forest signed Kanuric from FK Sarajevo in 2022. He was added as a player who had played senior football before but as someone who would try and rediscover himself with the club’s under-21 ranks.

The goalkeeper spent some time out on loan during his time on the books at Forest. He went to Oxford City for three months at the end of last season, making 13 appearances for the club and keeping six clean sheets.
During his time at FK Sarajevo, he spent some time with the first team. He made three appearances for them before the chance to join Forest came about.
The Reds announced their retained list at the start of June. Included among a host of players was Kanuric, with the club choosing not to give him a new deal.

However, it would seem as though he’s been invited back to the club for pre-season training. He’s previously been spotted in the latest training video uploaded by the club earlier this week on YouTube.
Now, as the players headed off to Spain at the weekend, Kanuric was spotted on some photos of the players on the plane. Again, the player seemingly has another chance to impress.
Kanuric still training with Forest despite being released
It doesn’t seem as though the player will be earning a new deal with the Reds, despite his invite to Spain. At 22-years-old, he will need to register as part of the club’s 25-man squad and that just won’t happen.
Kanuric is perhaps just staying with the club due to a current shortage of goalkeepers. Wayne Hennessey hasn’t even travelled to Spain and could be ruled out for a little while.

Forest still hope to add Dean Henderson to their ranks before the season starts. It’s proving a long-running saga at the moment but it’s believed that a deal will take place for the loanee to return on a permanent basis.
Kanuric looks to be merely keeping his eye in ahead of his next chapter. Nonetheless, it’s good that Steve Cooper has allowed the youngster a chance to stay fit as he begins his search for another club this summer.
With games against Valencia and Levante to come this week, Kanuric will be hoping to pull on a Forest shirt. Horvath has only just returned from an injury so there is every chance he will receive an opportunity.
