Nottingham Forest are the latest club to be linked with a move for Spanish goalkeeper David Soria. The Reds are in the race to sign the player alongside Real Madrid and Crystal Palace this summer.
According to Marca, the Reds are one of the interested parties now emerging for Soria’s signature. Forest are desperate to bolster their goalkeeping ranks, with Ethan Horvath and Wayne Hennessey both currently injured.

A move for Dean Henderson was thought to be being prioritised by the Reds. The player is now in the USA with the Manchester United squad though and it appears there is an impasse with the clubs.
Soria is an experienced performer in Spain. He has played for Sevilla and his current club Getafe during his career; also spending time with the youth academies at Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid.
Interestingly Soria has been to England before. He was on the books at Leicester for a year but moved on without getting the opportunity to make a first-team appearance for the East Midlands-based club.
MORE FOREST STORIES
The goalkeeper has made 185 appearances for Getafe and he would be sorely missed by them. Last season, he played 38 times and kept an impressive 14 clean sheets in La Liga.
Now, Forest could be set to turn to Soria in their attempts to land a goalkeeper. Their pursuit of Henderson has been frustrating at best and it could be time for the club to look elsewhere.
Forest eye move for Soria
Any goalkeeper linked with Forest at the moment will surely have their attention. The club doesn’t really have a senior goalkeeper available and they will be licking their lips at the prospect of grasping the number one spot.
Soria would arrive as a bit of an unknown quantity. However, not only does he have plenty of experience in a tough league but he’s also got a club like Real Madrid sniffing around him.

Forest desperately need to get the goalkeeper situation sorted. If they do no other business between now and the end of the campaign, the club must ensure that Steve Cooper has a goalkeeper in place for the opening day.
Rumour rating: 7/10 – This looks like a deal that could be a useful one. It’s no secret that Forest want to sign two goalkeepers and landing Soria would make some sense.
He’s proved himself as a safe pair of hands at Getafe and signing him could still lead to Forest getting a deal for Henderson over the line later in the summer.
