Nottingham Forest goalkeeper Ethan Horvath has vast interest from the Championship for his services. The custodian helped Luton Town win promotion to the Premier League during 2022/23 and is now a wanted man.
Horvath has aspirations of being the number one goalkeeper in the USA team. It’s one of the reasons why he joined Forest in 2021 and he will be desperate to continue playing regular football during 2023/24.

During 2021/22, he made 11 appearances between the sticks for Forest. Ultimately, he was unable to permanently dislodge Brice Samba from his position as the number one goalkeeper.
It’s been claimed by Mike McGrath from The Telegraph that Horvath now has interest from Championship clubs for his signature.
Under Rob Edwards, the goalkeeper has really kicked on last season. He kept 20 clean sheets during 2022/23 and helped Luton finish third before they beat Coventry in the Play-Off Final.

Horvath now only have a single season to run on his deal at Forest. He’s made just 11 appearances for the Reds and that simply won’t do for a player who is now accustomed to regular game time.
Championship clubs hold interest in Forest man Horvath
It seems unlikely that Forest will utilise Horvath next season. They’re hoping to sign Dean Henderson from Manchester United and Wayne Hennessey is still contracted at the club.
A move to play in the Championship again is surely one that would appeal to Horvath. Forest, however, might choose to keep him around until they’ve sorted their own goalkeeping situation out.

Horvath went to the World Cup with the USA at the end of 2022. He wasn’t the first choice and if he’s got any chance of dispossessing Matt Turner he needs to be playing regular football.
The player won’t be doing that anytime soon at Forest. Even without a senior goalkeeper fit and available right now, he’s likely to be on the surplus list and a move back to the Championship looks like a good one for all parties.
