Nottingham Forest are trying to strike a deal with Stuttgart defender Borna Sosa before the transfer window closes. The Reds have been chasing a left-back all summer and are now targeting the Bundesliga player.
According to Kicker, the 25-year-old is on the radar of Forest. It’s also claimed in the report that Stuttgart will look to recoup around £13 million if they’re to sell him.

Sosa has been with the German outfit since 2018 when he signed from Dinamo Zagreb. He’s quickly become a mainstay in the team for Stuttgart and has claimed 35 assists from 113 appearances.
The player is renowned for taking a brilliant set piece. Earlier in his career the official website of the Bundesliga actually compared him to David Beckham, given the nature of his deliveries into dangerous areas.
Forest are crying out for a left-back. Although they’ve added Ola Aina to their ranks, the Nigerian player isn’t a natural in that position and another option is required.

Forest trying to strike a deal for Stuttgart star Sosa
This seems like a very doable deal from a Forest perspective. Orel Mangala was signed from Stuttgart last season and perhaps the Reds have a good relationship with the club.
Sosa would be a quality signing for the Reds. He’s only 25 and he’s got plenty of experience at the top level, with proven qualities when it comes to providing creativity too.
Forest need to get moving pretty quickly to add some new signings to their squad. The Premier League campaign gets underway on Saturday and the group does look a little light.

Rumour rating: 8/10 – There is a lot to like about this link. Jermaine Jenas called him ‘quality’ during the World Cup in December and he could definitely offer something.
Forest need a left-back adding to their ranks. Ideally, they would add a player like Sosa to the ranks and then watch as he spends the next couple of years holding down the position.
Sosa is available at a pretty respectable price. Forest will have to cut their cloth accordingly this summer but the left-back certainly won’t break the bank.
