Nottingham Forest are weighing up a move to sign Stuttgart striker Serhou Guirassy this summer. The Bundesliga outfit are preparing to listen to offers for their striker and the Reds are now firmly in the mix.

According to Kicker, Forest are showing the most interest in Guirassy. The player has a release clause in his contract that stands at around £18 million.

Forest will press ahead with the deal, if the player shows an interest. Guirassy has been with Stuttgart since 2022 when he signed from Ligue 1 outfit Rennes.

Last season proved a very successful one for the uncompromising striker. He bagged 14 goals despite a season of struggle for Stuttgart which saw them keep their Bundesliga place through the relegation play-offs.

Guirassy is a proven goalscorer and perhaps he’d be a useful player for the Reds. Taiwo Awoniyi is the only striker on the books right now and he’s set to miss out on Saturday through injury.

The 27-year-old is a Guinea international and he’s made seven outings for the national team. During those appearances, he’s scored twice and the African Cup of Nations is just around the corner.

Forest are desperately trying to complete signings before the season starts. Matt Turner looks to be nearing his move to the City Ground, with a medical completed yesterday.

Forest want Guirassy and a striker is an absolute must

This would be a pretty useful deal for Forest to make and the player could be capable of starring. Scoring 14 goals in the Bundesliga is no mean feat and his record with Rennes wasn’t bad either.

In France, he found the 25 times for Rennes and 13 times for Amiens. Furthermore, at 27, he should be capable of hitting his very best form in the near future.

Forest do need to get themselves a striker sorted. Anthony Elanga should prove a useful addition on the flanks but more new recruits are now badly needed.

Rumour rating: 8/10 – We like this one a lot. Guirassy is physically strong and alongside Awoniyi, the pair should thrive at Forest.

The one thing that perhaps is a cause for concern is the African Cup of Nations. Forest already have a number of players who will go to that tournament in January and Guirassy represents another player who would be in contention.
