Nottingham Forest have previously been linked with Corinthians’ Brazilian defender Murillo.

However, a move for the 21-year-old now seems unlikely.

Journalist Luis Fabiani has reported that the agent of Murillo has stated the defender will not be sold by the club this window.

Fellow Premier League side Wolverhampton Wanderers are said to have submitted a €12 million bid this week, but it was rejected as Corinthians want to keep the youngster.

The centre-back has made 27 appearances for the Brazilian club, in the last four months since he made his debut in April.

Another missed target for Nottingham Forest

Steve Cooper’s side couldn’t have had a more polar opposite from last summer’s transfer window.

Only three signings have been made before the first game of the Premier League season, with the Reds missing out on multiple defensive targets.

Roger Ibanez, Mehir Demiral and Josip Sutalo are all names that have been linked with a move to the City Ground, but the club appears to have missed out on all three of them.

The window certainly has been frustrating for the new recruitment team including Ross Wilson, who many fans have been unimpressed with since his arrival.

However, there are still three weeks left of the summer transfer window giving Forest time to find a suitable alternative to the defensive options they’ve missed out on.
