Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale played for the Gunners against Nottingham Forest on Saturday. After the game, the stopper was spotted wearing a Forest shirt after swapping shirts with Matt Turner.

It was a debut to remember for Turner. He was thrust into action against the team that Forest signed him from to make his first appearance in the Premier League.

He was powerless to prevent the goals scored by Eddie Nketiah or Bukaya Saka in the first half. His save from Declan Rice in the second 45 was excellent though and kept Forest alive in the contest.

Ramsdale at the other end didn’t have much to do against Forest until after half-time. The Reds began to have a real go after the interval and denied the Arsenal stopper a clean sheet when Taiwo Awoniyi scored.

The England man is about to feel the heat for a place in the Arsenal team. The Gunners are going to sign David Raya from Brentford and he will have to maintain his performance levels.

As for Turner, he’s currently in competition with compatriot Ethan Horvath for his place at Forest. The club are hopeful of signing another goalkeeper before the transfer window closes, however.

Ramsdale spotted wearing a Forest shirt after Arsenal win

It was a nice touch for Ramsdale to swap shirts with Turner after Saturday’s game with Forest. It was an even nicer touch for Ramsdale to stick it on – and he looks good with the Forest badge on his chest!

Ramsdale signed for Arsenal for £30 million back in 2021. He’s quickly established himself as the number one goalkeeper and is integral to Mikel Arteta’s team.

For Turner, he now has a chance to establish himself as a Premier League goalkeeper. He only made seven appearances for the Gunners and they all came in either the Carabao Cup or Europa League.

With Forest yet to sign another goalkeeper they will place their trust in Turner. A good showing in the short term could earn him the chance to keep the gloves for the entire campaign.
