Ally McCoist praised Nottingham Forest star Matt Turner live on air as the stopper made a remarkable save from Declan Rice. The Reds lost 2-1 to Arsenal on the opening day but their performance was exceptional in the second half.
The TNT Sports co-commentator was providing match commentary alongside Forest mad pundit Darren Fletcher. Turner was thrust into action against the club that he only left earlier in the week and he was making his Premier League debut.

Forest have parted with £7 million to sign the goalkeeper from Arsenal. The pursuit of Dean Henderson appears to have reached an impasse and sadly, it looks as though Forest will have to look elsewhere this summer.
Turner looks like a useful addition to the Forest ranks. In the short term, he will definitely have the chance to stamp his authority and he will want to make sure he keeps the gloves for the entire campaign.
McCoist praised the Forest goalkeeper near the end of the contest. He made a wonderful save from Declan Rice and the popular pundit had some strong praise for the custodian.

He said live on TNT Sports: “That’s a top save. That, for me, is an absolutely brilliant save. We’re just looking at it again, it’s a top save, it really was.”
McCoist gave praise to Forest star Turner during Arsenal clash
The Reds managed to get a deal for Turner over the line before the Premier League opener. Clearly, the club needed a new stopper, with youngster George Shelvey playing the majority of games in pre-season.
Turner looked pretty comfortable throughout the clash. He made a couple of smart stops and also showed good foot when distributing out from the back.

Forest will definitely want another goalkeeper. Ethan Horvath looks set to be allowed to leave this summer and another stopper to compete with Turner looks likely.
McCoist spoke fondly of Forest when he commentated on them last season and during the 2021/22 season when they caught the eye during a run to the FA Cup quarter-finals.
The Reds will hope that Turner can keep producing the goods. If he does, Forest will be confident of picking up plenty of points during the campaign.
