Nottingham Forest face competition from Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich for the signature of Benfica’s ‘wonderkid‘ Florentino Luis.
The Reds submitted a £26 million bid for the 23-year-old just yesterday, but according to Kicker, Thomas Tuchel’s side are interested in the former Portuguese U21 international to help bolster their midfield.
Kicker’s report also states that the German side are interested in signing Leicester City’s Wilfred Ndidi who could be available for £20 million this window.
As for Steve Cooper’s side, they are still targeting a move for Florentino, with Benfica asking for over £30 million for the midfielder. However, the Reds are still interested in PSV’s Ibrahim Sangare who has a release clause of £32 million in his contract.

What next for Florentino Luis?
The ball is ultimately in his court this summer. The midfielder wants to leave his boyhood club, in order to achieve more regular first-team minutes.
MORE FOREST STORIES
Florentino has been at Benfica for his entire career. He came through their youth system, however, he has spent time on loan with Monaco and Getafe in recent years.
The defensive midfielder doesn’t look to be in the club’s plans this season. In their opening game of the season against Boavista at the weekend, he played for just six minutes, coming off the bench in the 84th minute.

Forest do remain extremely keen on the talented 23-year-old who has bags of potential.
However, if they are to land Luis on a permanent basis, they will have to shake off tough competition from Bayern as well as Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool who are said to be interested after missing out on Moises Caicedo.
It is obvious that if he wants consistent game time then Florentino should join Forest, but, the opportunity to win elite European trophies at either Bayern or Liverpool may be too good to turn down for the youngster.
