Nottingham Forest have seen a bid rejected for Red Star Belgrade midfielder Kings Kangwa. The Reds are keen to strengthen their midfield ranks before the transfer window closes and they need to get things moving.
Kangwa has been with the Serbian outfit since 2022 when he signed from Arsenal Tula in Russia. He’s made 49 appearances for the club, scoring 12 goals and claiming eight assists.

Now, the player is catching the eye of clubs in much bigger leagues. Forest, it is claimed by Bola News, are very keen and have seen a bid of £2.7 million rejected for the player.
Last season was a really successful one for Kangwa and the Forest interest doesn’t come to much surprise. He scored 12 goals and claimed six assists in all competitions as Red Star qualified for the Champions League.
It’s thought that their participation in that competition is why they don’t want to sell him. The 24-year-old is set to be integral in that competition and Red Star are keen to keep him.

Kangwa has two assists and a goal from the 2023/24 campaign so far. He’s also created 11 chances this season which is the most in the division.
Forest have bid rejected for Kangwa
It looks very unlikely that Forest will manage to get this deal over the line. Red Star are adamant they want the player for their Champions League campaign and that’s understandable.
The Reds might have seen this deal as an easy win. Kangwa would surely jump at the chance to move to the Premier League but it will be down to his club’s wishes.

The midfielder is a Zambia international. He’s made 21 appearances for his country, scoring five goals and he will be a certain pick for their African Cup of Nations campaign.
Forest might have viewed Kangwa as a useful squad option. Their attempts look to be falling flat on their face though and they might be forced to look elsewhere.
