Chelsea are looking at other options to bolster their attack and are now currently negotiating with Nottingham Forest for Brennan Johnson. The Blues are desperate to add another forward player after claiming just one point from their opening two games.
Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Chelsea are looking at several options. Contrary to reports, however, the Blues aren’t currently in discussions over signing Johnson and Mauricio Pochettino has now focused his attention elsewhere.

Forest claimed their first win of the campaign on Friday against Sheffield United. Johnson was in the team and if he sticks at the City Ground, he will remain an integral part of the Forest team under Steve Cooper.
Last week, it was claimed that Forest were willing to let Johnson go if they received an offer in excess of £50 million. It was also suggested that Evangelos Marinakis was in negotiations with Chelsea over the sale of the 22-year-old.
Johnson has been in fine form over the last two seasons for Forest. He scored 19 goals during the 2021/22 campaign as the Reds won promotion to the Premier League. In his maiden Premier League season, he bagged eight goals for the team.

The talented forward won Forest some big points last season. He scored two equalisers against Everton, scored the winner against Leeds and also gave Forest the lead during a game against Wolves that proved a real dogfight.
Chelsea not in negotiations with Forest over Johnson
This is perhaps good news for the Reds. Forest would dearly love to keep hold of Johnson for another campaign and if they do fend off the interest, he could be worth even more in 12 months.

Chelsea would have been an attractive move though. Furthermore, Forest have a number of players that they would love to recruit from Stamford Bridge which they might have been able to include in the deal.
Still, Forest would rather keep Johnson. Any club that wants to sign him doesn’t have long to get a deal forced through and this latest update is definitely positive for Forest.
