Nottingham Forest are set to unveil Gonzalo Montiel in style later today. An update has now emerged that suggests the club are going big on the announcement video.

According to Rudy Galetti, the Reds have struck a deal with Sevilla to complete the signing. However, he believes that a ‘top presentation’ will be made by the club to announce the player.

Forest are doing unbelievably well to get this deal over the line. Montiel is a World Cup winner and scored the winning penalty that secured the prize for Argentina last year.

The 26-year-old has a thing for scoring crucial penalties. He was also on hand to net the winning penalty as Sevilla won the Europa League during 2022/23 but now he’s heading to Forest.

It would appear as though the player’s medical has gone through smoothly. The only thing that remains is Forest announcing Montiel as one of their players.

The Argentina international comes with a wealth of experience. He’s made 72 appearances for Sevilla and prior to signing for the La Liga outfit, he made 140 appearances for River Plate.

Now Montiel will be added to the squad as a wing-back option. Serge Aurier and Neco Williams are already in place on Trentside and it will be fascinating to see what happens.

Forest to unveil Montiel in style

Forest really are back. In the space of two summers, they’ve gone from the bottom of the Championship to competing for the signature of a World Cup winner.

Montiel looks to be a done deal. Hopefully, there can be an announcement of sorts from the club today, with some fans getting itchy feet over the formalities being concluded.

Forest will look forward to getting Montiel on the training ground. The Reds travel to Manchester United on Saturday and hopefully, the deal can be struck in time for him to play his part.

Given Galetti’s claim, all eyes will now be on the club. It will be intriguing to see what the ever-growing media team come up with for this latest signing.
