Ahead of the encounter at Old Trafford this afternoon, Manchester United boss Erik Ten Hag has praised Steve Cooper and his Nottingham Forest side.
Ten Hag complimented Cooper’s side at his pre-match press conference on Friday after the Reds played four times against United last season, with the United boss labelling Forest as a “very good team“.
Cooper’s side will be hoping to make amends for their defeats against the Red Devils last season, with now the perfect time to play a struggling United side.
Ten Hag’s side have won one and lost one of their opening two fixtures, with his side looking less than impressive in both encounters.

What did Erik Ten Hag say in his press conference?
When asked about the game today, the Dutchman admitted that his side must play better than have in their first two outings in order to get all three points against a dangerous Forest side.

“It’s a very good team and also, I think, a very good squad even. They can pick [different] players, so we have to be on the front foot. We have to be fully concentrated.
“We know what their game plan will be, but it’s important how we play against them, and we have to do our job.

“I think to change manager, most of the time it doesn’t work out.
“Forest, last season, showed [that]. They believed in the person, in his abilities, and the strategy he had.
“In the end, they got rewarded, so I’m happy that this happens in football, where it’s so fluid and managers are so quickly under pressure.”
Forest should be full of confidence heading into the fixture. Off the back of a 2-1 win against Sheffield United, they could potentially frustrate United and cause an upset at Old Trafford.
