Gabriel Agbonlahor can’t believe something that happened in Nottingham Forest defeat

Gabby Agbonlahor slammed Manchester United man Marcus Rashford for his ‘dive’ against Nottingham Forest. The England striker was awarded a penalty when Danilo was judged to have fouled him in the 76th minute.

The pundit made the claim live on TalkSPORT after yesterday’s game that Forest lost 3-2. Being at Old Trafford, it’s not really a major surprise that VAR didn’t think that Stuart Attwell had made a clear and obvious error.

Bruno Fernandes scored the penalty. The power of the kick beat Matt Turner, despite the Forest man diving the right way. Earlier, Taiwo Awoniyi and Willy Boly had put the Reds 2-0 up.

It wasn’t to be for Forest. They had Joe Worrall sent off in the second half on 67 minutes and it was always going to be an uphill challenge for the Reds after that flashpoint.

United needed a dodgy penalty to defeat Forest though. For the second game running, the Red Devils benefitted from a massive stroke of luck from the man on VAR.

Agbonlahor couldn’t believe the decision that United got during the game against Forest. He said on TalkSPORT: “It’s 100% a dive. It’s one of those where if an ex-player is in VAR, he’d say no penalty.”

Forest were robbed against United claims Agbonlahor

The Reds were unlucky during this clash against United. Rashford should feel thoroughly ashamed for his antics and he bought the referee hook, line and sinker.

Forest will play teams who have less quality than United. As a result, they need to bottle this away performance and ensure they take some positives from the experience.

The Reds will hope that they get some luck with VAR decisions as the season progresses. They certainly can’t get any worse than what they’ve experienced this weekend and Steve Cooper will hope the spirits stay high.

Forest have some quality players this season. The team will benefit from the experience of having a year in the Premier League together and hopefully they can kick on now.
