Nottingham Forest are in advanced talks with Serie A side Bologna over a swap deal for Nicolas Dominguez with Remo Freuler joining the Italian side.
The 31-year-old Swiss international has yet to make an appearance for the Reds this season, with Freuler free to leave the City Ground this window.
As for Dominguez, the Argentinian has one year left on his deal at Bologna, with the 25-year-old stating his desire to leave the club for a new challenge.
Sky Sports reported yesterday, that talks were at an advanced stage, but it remains to be seen whether Freuler would join the Italian side on loan or permanent basis.

A good deal for both parties involved
The experienced midfielder hasn’t played a game for Nottingham Forest since the 3-2 defeat away at Liverpool in April, with Danilo, Orel Mangala and Ryan Yates all being preferred to Freuler.

It would be a good move for all parties if Forest could offload the 31-year-old. He’s a talented footballer, but unfortunately for him, he just doesn’t suit the system that Steve Cooper wants to deploy and Bologna now want him.

The deal for Freuler would allow Forest to sign Dominguez, a box-to-box midfielder that the Reds have been pursuing for a number of weeks.
Forest remain in talks with Bologna for the 25-year-old, although at one stage it looked like a move to Galatasaray was more likely, a deal for the Argentinian to the City Ground is now advancing which would help bolster Cooper’s midfield before the closure of the window on Friday.
