Nottingham Forest are now getting closer to the signing of Chelsea star Callum Hudson-Odoi. The young winger is going to put pen to paper on a deal at the City Ground and he will reunite with Steve Cooper who has managed him before.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the Reds are now edging towards completing a deal to sign the 22-year-old. The player would represent a decent piece of business for the Reds and prepare the club for the likelihood of losing Brennan Johnson.

Hudson-Odoi should now become a Forest player. Negotiations between Forest and Chelsea are now reaching the final stages; with Romano believing that the tricky winger could soon be announced as a Forest player.

This one is an intriguing one for the Reds to get over the line. He’s lost his way at Chelsea over the last couple of years; however, when he first burst onto the scene he was a talent linked with Bayern Munich who prepared a huge bid at one point.

In total, Hudson-Odoi has made 126 appearances for the Blues. Across that period in the team, he’s scored 16 goals and claimed 22 assists, with Frank Lampard calling him ‘incredible’ back in July 2019 when he was in charge of the club.

Last season proved a frustrating one for the player. He spent the campaign on loan with Bayer Leverkusen, registering just two goal contributions in 21 appearances for the Bundesliga outfit.

This is an intriguing signing to say the very least. Clearly, Cooper has orchestrated this one, given that he managed the winger when the England Under-17s won the World Cup in 2017.

Clearly, the forward has lost his way a little bit of late. He will hope to get back to what he’s good at in the coming years and Forest boss Cooper could be just what Hudson-Odoi needs.

Forest might be preparing for life after Johnson. The player is still wanted by Tottenham this summer and Hudson-Odoi will definitely offer something going forward for the Reds.

Hopefully, Forest can get this one over the line. If they do, Cooper will do his very best to get Hudson-Odoi back to his best as the season progresses.
