Nottingham Forest are edging closer to the signing of Callum Hudson-Odoi. The Reds have courted the player all summer and now look to have got their man.

According to journalist Jacob Steinberg, the deal is now close. The documentation was completed last night and Chelsea just need to work on an exit package with the winger.

Hudson-Odoi is a player who Steve Cooper knows extremely well. The player was part of the England Under-17 squad that won the World Cup in 2017.

Now, the player who has lost his way a little bit in recent years is moving to Forest. A deal was agreed with Chelsea overnight and a late hijack attempt from Fulham has gone south.

Frank Lampard is a huge fan of Hudson-Odoi, when he was overseeing things at Chelsea, he called him ‘incredible’ and gave him ample chances in the first team.

Forest will give Hudson-Odoi a brilliant chance to rediscover his best form. Last season, he was on loan at Bayer Leverkusen but managed just two goal contributions in 21 outings.

Forest close to Hudson-Odoi deal

This is definitely a deal that will excite the fan base. The Reds have got their man and Hudson-Odoi is now on the verge of a big move to Forest – once he’s agreed his exit package.

At 22-years-old, it’s quite remarkable what Hudson-Odoi has achieved. He’s won the Champions League with Chelsea and has made over 100 appearances for the Blues.

Now, he will head to Forest to embark on the next stage of his career. With Cooper in his corner to put a much-needed arm around him, the player could thrive.

This deal looks intriguing to say the very least. Hopefully, the Reds can get the best out of Hudson-Odoi and he can thrive under regular action.
