Nottingham Forest tried to sign Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah on transfer deadline. Now, the Blues are set to banish the player from the senior ranks completely and he remains in limbo.

According to Football London, Mauricio Pochettino has no plans to hand the 24-year-old a reprieve. Tottenham were also linked during the summer and it’s being claimed that they could try and sign him again in January.

Forest could also move to sign Chalobah when the transfer window reopens. Steve Cooper is a big fan of the versatile performer and he might already have one eye on signing him when the window starts again.

Rio Ferdinand previously praised Forest target Chalobah for his form in the Chelsea team. He called him ‘unbelievable’ and Cooper has worked with him previously during his time with the England youth teams.

Chalobah was all set to sign for Bayern Munich on transfer deadline day. A move went south though and that led to Forest making their late attempt to try and bring him to the City Ground.

The player opted to stay put so close to the transfer deadline, however. Chalobah didn’t fancy switching to Forest so late in the day and perhaps now he might regret that decision.

It would seem as though Pochettino isn’t keen on having the defender around. He’s now facing exile from the Chelsea squad altogether following a glut of summer signings for the Blues.

Forest will likely still have Chalobah on their radar. However, having signed Murillo and Andrew Omobamidele, the club might feel they now have a couple of sound investments for the future.

Chalobah might live to regret this decision that he’s made involving Forest. Although he might have wanted to bide his time, he’s now going to be playing no football for the next four months at the very least.
