Nottingham Forest striker Emmanuel Dennis will sign on loan for Istanbul Basaksehir before tomorrow’s transfer deadline. The Reds player has been a wanted man this week and a deal now looks close.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the player is signing for the club. He’s uttered the words, ‘Here we go’, and Forest appear to finally be getting rid of the player at least for the 2023/24 campaign.

It’s been claimed that Istanbul won’t have an option to sign Dennis permanently from Forest. However, it’s a bonus to get him out of the club for a year given that he’s not been named in the club’s Premier League squad.
Things haven’t really worked out for Dennis at Forest. He cost the club £15 million from Watford last summer and he came to the City Ground on the back of 10 Premier League goals.
Steve Cooper just never really took to him at all. He only started six times in the top-flight and his two goals failed to convince the head coach that he was a player that he could regularly count upon.

Dennis edges closer to Forest exit
This is a move that frankly makes sense for all parties. The Reds would have liked a deal to sell Dennis but ultimately getting him out for a year is better than him kicking his heels at Forest.

Dennis hasn’t made the grade at Forest but that hasn’t solely been his fault. Cooper utilised a system that didn’t really suit his style of play and ultimately, it’s hard to get going when you’re perhaps starting one game a month.
Forest now have better options within their squad. Losing Dennis isn’t a big deal at all really and hopefully, he can impress sufficiently this season to tempt Istanbul into a permanent purchase next summer.
