Nottingham Forest have confirmed their 25-man squad for the 2023/24 campaign ahead of next week’s game with Burnley. The Reds have omitted four senior players from it and have essentially been able to name a 30-man squad.
It’s the time of the campaign when every club’s head coach is scratching his head over who to pick. Only players registered can take part in the Premier League until the registration window reopens in January.
The Reds have now named their squad and in truth, it looks as though it’s brimming with quality. It’s fair to say that the squad looks so much more rounded than last season, even if the sale of Brennan Johnson has depleted the team in attack a little bit.

Notable omissions from Forest 25-man squad
The squad now looks as strong as it could realistically from a Forest perspective. Seeing the names in full makes the transfer window actually look very shrewd indeed considering how much work Forest had to do.
Steve Cooper now has no excuses. Not that he’s ever made any but with options all over the pitch, he knows he must find a winning formula that makes Forest easier on the eye in the process.
As for the notable omissions from the squad, they’ll all look to leave. Biancone, it’s believed has actually signed for Olympiacos on a loan deal until the end of the season as he recovers from his injury.
Dennis and the £70,000-a-week Shelvey both look set for a move to Turkey, whilst Horvath isn’t named and will now face Forest exile if he doesn’t secure a move away from the City Ground in the near future.
