After his brilliant debut for the club last night, Nottingham Forest winger Callum Hudson-Odoi has spoken of his delight in playing with Morgan Gibbs-White once again.

The pair played together for England U17s under current Forest boss Steve Cooper, as they won the World Cup back in 2017.

Although it was the first time they featured together for the first time in six years, last night there were glimpses of what they are capable of creating together.

With Gibbs-White and Hudson-Odoi only being 23 and 22 respectively, the future of the pair at the City Ground looks to be very promising.

Callum Hudson-Odoi on Morgan Gibbs-White

Speaking to BBC Radio Nottingham last night, the winger admitted that it is great to be reunited with his former England U17 teammate.

“Me and Morgs [Gibbs-White] were talking about it in the warm-up, and it’s been a long time since we played with each other.

“In training, we’re always trying to play the ball to each other, link-up and play around but when it comes to games it’s like we’ve never been away and we’re back at it like we’re at England U17s all over again.

“It’s great to play with him because he’s a brilliant player and he knows that so the more we play together, hopefully, the more goals we can create.”

Although his partnership with Gibbs-White looks promising, Hudson-Odoi looked to rekindle another link-up with Ola Aina.

The pair played together for Chelsea, with the pair looking good together down Forest’s left-hand side last night.

At just 22-years-old it’s hard to imagine how Forest have got him so cheap this summer. Yes, the player has lost his way a little bit but Chelsea might have dropped the ball a little bit with this one.
