Nottingham Forest midfielder Ryan Yates is averaging more tackles per game than one-time target Cheick Doucoure.
Steve Cooper’s side targeted the 23-year-old holding midfielder before he eventually joined fellow Premier League side Crystal Palace.
The Malian has impressed during his stint at Selhurst Park, but this season he’s averaging fewer tackles than Forest academy graduate Yates.
Palace man Doucoure averages 4.80 tackles, with the Reds number 22 averaging an impressive 5.23 tackles per game.

Ryan Yates continues to impress for Nottingham Forest
It’s safe to say that Ryan Yates has been a man who has divided opinions amongst the Nottingham Forest fan base in recent years.
However, his performances so far this campaign have proved how crucial he is to Steve Cooper’s side.
He may not possess the technical ability of the likes of Danilo and Morgan Gibbs-White, but Yates is a true warrior who breaks up the play, allowing the likes of the names mentioned to shine in forward areas.

Forest look much more comfortable with his leadership in the middle of the park, as he provides that voice alongside his committed attitude to push his club forward.
Undoubtedly, he has proven the qualities that he adds to the side, and should be a certain starter going forward for sure.
