Gustavo Scarpa is keen to walk away from Nottingham Forest on a permanent basis in January. He’s currently on loan with Olympiacos but that arrangement is set to be discussed during the next transfer window.
According to SBT journalist Alvaro Loureiro, the 29-year-old is now craving a move back to Palmeiras. The player is wanted by Flamengo when it comes to January but he prefers a move back to his old club.

Forest signed Scarpa from Palmeiras in January 2023. Initially, it looked as though the player would prove to be a decent signing and he made 10 appearances for the Reds.
Forest didn’t pay a transfer fee for Scarpa. It was a deal that was agreed last summer but he chose to stay with Palmeiras to help them win the league title.
The versatile forward has made five appearances since he signed for Olympiacos on loan. He would like to still make a fist of succeeding in Europe but a move to Brazil could now tempt him.
Forest-owned Scarpa wants move back to Brazil
Palmeiras are currently sitting in second place in the Brazilian top-flight. They’re seven points behind Botafogo at the top and are still in the battle this season as they chase another title.

Ahead of the new campaign, they might fancy re-signing Scarpa from Forest when the window reopens. The man who has been capped by Brazil may cut his losses with European football, although it could depend on how his spell with Olympiacos pans out.
The player wasn’t really cut out for the Premier League. Forest now have better options to call upon in their attack and if the chance arises to sell Scarpa in January, the club have to consider it.
