Nottingham Forest head coach Steve Cooper has praised Nicolas Dominguez for his debut performance in the Garibaldi. The Reds star was named in the starting eleven for the first time since signing from Bologna this summer.
It proved a baptism of fire for Dominguez. He came up against some of the best midfielders in world football but the pleasing aspect was that he didn’t look overawed.

At 25-years-old, Dominguez arrives at Forest having played 11 times for Argentina. He wasn’t part of the World Cup-winning squad but he did lift the Copa America with his country.
After the game, Cooper praised his new midfielder. He also explained that he needs to proceed with caution when it comes to getting his new recruits into the team.
He told Nottinghamshire Live: “I thought he did well. We’ve signed a lot of new players; it’s going to be impossible to just throw them all together and expect a fluid team which can compete in a Premier League game, never mind this one.”
Forest midfielder Dominguez praised after Reds defeat
The talented player already looks like a quality midfield player. He’s shown the sort of quality in one appearance that suggests he should be more than capable in the Premier League.

Dominguez will almost certainly keep his place in the team for next Sunday. The Reds will play Brentford next week and he should now be a banker to start.
Forest threw Remo Freuler in the deal to take Dominguez to the City Ground. Yesterday, the player showcased in one game that he’s probably far more suited to Cooper’s style of play than the Swiss performer ever was.
